Samurai Warriors
"Aye, go fetch me my prized gem ring, now, won't you, Jet?" Rocket demanded, bragging to his friends, Yuo and Hae. Jet was his little sister whom he pushed around a lot in front of them. Jet sprang up and decided to show her stuff in front of Yuo, who she had a crush on.
"There isn't any way I am going to "fetch" your stupid ring for you, Rocket. Get your lazy ass up and do something for once!" Rocket chuckled.
"She's a bit hot tempered. Allow me." He rose to his feet, patted his clothes and unsheathed his sword. "...Now, Jet, go fetch my ring. Or you'll have to deal with this." He held his sword to Jet's chest.
"Aye, Rocket, she's just a little thing. Leave her alone." Yuo cooly interrupted, with a smirk. Rocket sheathed his sword.
"If Master Malcoch learns about what you're doing, Rocket, guess who'll be expelled, and for the littlest reason?" Jet teased, then looked at Yuo. "No need for you to call him off of me, thanks, but I have the Malah, remember? Thanks anyway. I think I'll go for a stroll." Jet walked out of the house, her scarf blowing slightly in the breeze as she stepped out. As Yuo watched, she winked.
"Ergh...damn her and her rebellious ways. And it's nearly time for practice. Damnit! Yuo, Hae, I guess I won't be able to show you the ring today."
"Tis okay," Rae replied, "I'm always up for a rematch in the ring with you, Rocket. Heh heh heh..." Rae walked out after Jet and waved.
"Hmph. I guess it's about time we meet Jet by Master Malcoch's place. What do you say, Rocket? You think you're up to Rae's skills yet? Even though he's the best in class?" Yuo walked with Rocket out the house.
"I'm always up to mend my skills. Unlike some people who just prefer to stick to the sidelines and watch. Yuo." Rocket teased. Yuo shrugged.
"It's amusing to watch you get your ass kicked by him. That's all. Heh heh."
"Really now? I think I might want to go up against you, this time, Yuo. I haven't tasted your skill in a while."
"Doesn't matter to me either way. Like I said," Yuo chuckled, "It's always amusing to watch you get your ass kicked." With that said, the two continued to Master Malcoch's house.
"Where have you two been? Jet was on time, as usual, but you two slackers are late again!" Master Malcoch was dressed in his classic ninja robe. Yuo thought Malcoch looked womanly in such a tight outfit. His black hair was pulled back into a ponytail. All that was showing was with green eyes. "What, did you forget to eat breakfast again?"
"No, Master, my brother held all of us up because he wanted to show Yuo..." Jet glared at her brother. "...His 'prized gem ring.' And I left the scene early, because I didn't want to be late. Unlike some people. Yuo was held up by him too."
"Rocket, the evildoer?" Malcoch sighed. "Well, Rocket, I can't say I agree with your stalling, but we have to get to the training grounds. Sen is waiting for us there. I decided to pair you guys up with his trainees this time."
"...Who am I up against, Master?" Jet asked, hiding her excitement.
"Rocket, you'll be going up against Angus."
"Ohh, hurter. Heh heh heh, better watch your back, Rocket. You might get stabbed." Yuo mocked, making fun of the lack in Angus's abilities. Master Malcoch glared at him and continued.
"Yuo, you'll be us against Rae."
"As expected." Yuo agreed.
"And Jet, you'll be going up against Luke."
Jet snorted. "But Luke isn't a challenge at all! Besides that, he likes me, and that's sort of creepy." Jet whipped her palms off on her pants.
"It doesn't matter what you guys think. I'm your teacher, and what I say goes. I matched you based upon your personalities. That's all." Malcoch began towards the fence. "C'mon now, don't be so slow."
"......Grrr..." Jet followed after Yuo and Rocket. Once she appeared in the ring, she decided to stay more behind Yuo. Though he was four years older than her, she'd always enjoyed tormenting him, only because she was trying to hide her secret love for him. He'd always been mobbed by Vixen and Koi, who were her sworn rivals until Jet claims that she would get Yuo to love her and be with her forever, and whipe it in the faces of his other fangirls. Luke was a year younger than her, and she found out he liked her because the others at school spilled it. She never liked him. He was always failing with his swordplay, he was short and plump, and he had glasses. Though he was smart, he just wasn't meant to be a samurai.
"Hi...Jet." She heard the voice from behind her, and she froze. She must have been lost in thought, because she didn;t even realize that the training was about to begin. "Jet, you won't do your best on me, right? I might get injured..." Luke blushed and looked at his feet.
"Don't think I will go easy on you just because you're incomgfident, Luke. I'll give you my all." Jet unsheathed her sword, but when she held it in her hands, she realized how hesitant she was. Why was this? Perhaps she thought Luke might actually get hurt, and she didn't want to be responsible. She glanced over at Yuo, who was in a perfect stance.
"Master Malcoch!" She shouted, having a new idea in mind. Malcoch swiftly stepped to her side.
"Yes?" He seemed to have noticed her reluctance. "Something wrong?"
"I want to discard this sword for this battle. I want to use my fists instead." Malcoch seemed shocked at her request.
"Without your sword, you won't be able to retaliate his attacks," Malcoch started, but Jet interrupted him.
"Will you fulfill my request? I need my cuffs if so. I want to show this boy my true talent." Malcoch's gaze warmthened. He pulled out of his bag his trainee's cuffs and handed them to her. Jet took them gratefully. "Thank you, Master." She slipped them on. Her clothes now resembled that of a fabled fighter long ago. She wore long pants, which enlarged at the ankle. Her top was tight and v-necked, making her undershirt visible. She had long sleeves which mostly covered her hands, which had cuffs equipped. Her entire outfit matched - Silk golden and red. The rims of the outfit was red, the rest was golden, her hairband too was golden. Her cuffs were black, as were her shoes. She took off her sword from her belt, which was a silk material, red. She got into her favorite hand combat stance and waited, facing Luke.
"...Jet? Are you sure..? I mean, my sword is sharp...and-" Jet was interrupted by his apponent.
"But you have slow movements and weak strikes. I can easily dodge out of the way. And counter as well. Oh yes, Luke, I am positive. I'll show you my true potential - without use of the Malah." When the horn to signal battle start sounded, all was lost in focus. All Jet was focused on was beating Luke, who she knew would be a piece of cake.
Luke unsheathed his sword and quickly sliced for Jet, but she was already behind him.
"Huh? No silly, I'm over here." She tripped him with a single ground swipe, and flipped her hair while he watched her from his spot in the dirt. "What's the matter? Aren't you man enough to handle me? Hmph. Come and get me, little boy. Gimme your all!" Angered, Luke rose to his feet and sliced at Jet again, and landed a blow. He opened his eyes, only to see that she was reflecting it with her cuffs. "Silly boy," Jet pushed back on the sword, and when she saw the opening, she laid a swift uppercut upon him. "Don't you realize..." In mid-air, she leapt up and flip kicked his head, sending him spiralling to the ground. "...That I am your superior?" She landed in front of him, and giggled. Luke looked up, blown away by the power she held.
"I never faught you before. I see you're better at dodging and reflecting rather than powerful blows..." Luke sliced at Jet, but as she leapt up, laid an uppercut with his sword. "But I know your routine now!" Jet landed on her feet behind him, grasping her shoulder.
"...I see you've cut me. It's only a scratch....gah.." As Luke charged her with another slash, she swiftly, in one move, held onto the sword, kicked him from it and held the sword to his throat while he was laid on the ground, her foot on his chest. "I can do better. Hee hee hee." Just then, Master Malcoch interrupted their battle.
"Nice going, Jet. I am proud. Luke, you're lucky to have gotten a sharp blow on her. I am proud of you as well. I see your progression. Now, Jet, I think it's time I mend your cut. You can watch the other battles meanwhile."
"Yes Master. Thank you."
As Jet's wound was being treated, she watched as Yuo and Rae clashed swords. They looked exhausted, and worn out, by the looks of it. It was a fair match. Rae was a master in his class, and Yuo, though lazy and rather objective, was very good with his own. Rae finally broke through Yuo's blocking and turned him onto his stomach on the ground, the tip of his sword to the back of his head.
"Oh that Yuo..." Master Malcoch said, startling Jet, "You know he could have done better. He has a lot of potential, and I know you know that by the way you look at him. You know that, don't you, Jet?" Malcoch finished wrapping Jet's arm.
"Huh? Oh..."
"You like him, don't you?"
"W-What? What are you saying..."
"Heh. No need to deny it. I can tell."
"Oh.... Umm, no, I look up to him...Err, like an older brother. Why do you want to know?"
"Heh. I might be the same age as you, Jet, but I ain't stupid." Jet rose to her feet and watched the battle between Angus and Rocket. "No thanks? Hm..."
"Oh. Thanks, Master." Jet walked a ways away, and sat on her knees, after the awkward conversation with Malcoch. Then she realized that she never knew Malcoch's first name. When she turned to ask him, he was already gone.
Meanwhile, Rocket was busy practicing on Angus.
"Alright now, Rocket...your power is incredible, I admit! But I am swifter!" Angus was quickly tiring Rocket by evading each and every blow he attempted to lay on him. He also countered Rocket's blows, maybe because Rocket was distracted by something. Finally, he kicked Angus across the face and slashed his side, easily ending the match. Malcoch appeared and exchanged a few words with Rocket, shook his hand, and then escorted him to where Jet was. He began to treat his cuts.
"Master Malcoch." Jet grabbed his arm.
"...Yes Jet?" Malcoch glanced at Jet briefly and then continued wrapping Rocket's arm.
"I was curious. Would it be an invasion of privacy if I asked what your first name was?"
"Well, certainly I have never been asked that question before."
"So, what's your first name?"
"Where's Yuo?" Rocket interrupted, looking around. "Shouldn't he be here? After all, he was blown away by Hae. Heh heh heh heh."
"He should be here. He's exchanging a few friendly words with Hae." Malcoch looked back at Jet. "My name is Ruro. Ruro Malcoch." The answer surprised Jet, as she'd only known Ruro as Malcoch.
"That's a nice name.."
"Why thank you. Now where is that Yuo?" Just then, Yuo appeared behind them.
"Someone said my name? Heh." Yuo stood, arms crossed, leaning against the wall behind them. "Anyway, I guess I was the only one of us three who lost. Meh."
"You should have tried harder." Ruro stood up and stared at Yuo with an odd expression. Jet was the only one who realized it. He seemed to look at Yuo with the same way Luke looked at him. And Luke was interested in her. "Maybe then your little girlfriends might be all over you even more than they are now." The sudden change in Ruro's mood surprised Jet.
"What the Hell is up with you?" Yuo advanced towards Ruro with his hand on his sheath. "You know I am skilled with a sword, don't you, Malcoch?"
"Are you challenging your own master, Yuo?"
"Will you two just cut it out!" Jet jumped up and got between the two.
"Seriously, guys. It's not very mature, Master Malcoch, and it's not respectful, Yuo. You know what could happen if you do something like this. So I suggest you stop. Now." Rocket was also standing up now, alarmed at the situation.
"Well I'm pretty interested in why Master Malcoch's attitude changed so suddenly."
"Yuo, please stop. I don't want anyone to get hurt. And I don't want anyone to get in trouble." Jet hang on to Yuo's sleeve.
"Hmph. Fine then..." Yuo turned away from Ruro.
"Alright guys. I think it's about time we head home, don't you think? Let's get some quality resting up and then tomorrow, we'll be starting the serious training for the tournament." Ruro looked at Jet with strangely sad eyes.
"Alright. Whatever." Yuo lifted his arms and turned his head slightly. "I don't really care. If only I was to go up against someone more challenging, then I'd be more...interested." Yuo and Rocket walked out of the gate and disappeared behind a building.
"Jet." Ruro approached her. "I want to know the reason you wanted to fight Luke with cuffs instead of a sword."
"Oh, that. Well, see, Luke and I stretch back a long way. And he likes me. Therefore, I didn't want to injure him because that would hurt him, and I care about other peoples feelings. Therefore, I used my cuffs, so that no blood would be shed." Jet realized that she still had her cuffs on. There was an odd expression on Ruro's face. "...What is it?"
"I'd like to challenge you, Jet. And I want you to use your cuffs. I'll use mine as well. Deal?"
"What's the gain?"
"I will tell you something you didn't know before."
"When?"
"Right after you win. If you win. And if I win, you tell me your true feelings about Yuo."
"Deal. It's pretty slim but I'll take you on."
"Right here. Right now. Heh heh heh." Ruro slipped on his cuffs and ran into the battlefield. Jet followed him, and they both got into their battle positions. "I have a question for you, Jet!" Ruro said before he innitiated battle.
"What is it?"
"Why do you stand in that position?"
"I'm not quite sure. It's the stance of that legendary fist fighter, right?"
"He didn't just fight with his fists. He never used weapons. He faught with himself and that special power. Anyway, let's get started! I'm eager to taste your ability!" And with that, the battle started. Jet jumped high into the air and attempted to kick Ruro's head, but he evaded and countered her attack with a gentle jab to the solar plexis, which made her collapse. "Was it this easy? C'mon, Jet. I know you can do better." Jet pushed herself up, heaving, and leapt at Ruro. She started to preform another high kick on him, but tricked him and preformed a low kick instead. He was tripped, and she let him get up. The two struggled for an entire 15 minutes, until the two were so tired out that they both collapsed in front of eachother panting.
"...Good...game....." Jet was panting heavily, staring at Ruro, whom she saw in a new light.
"Yeah...really...good game...hahah!" Ruro laughed and rolled onto the ground next to Jet. "Well, seeing as neither of us won, we both have to tell our part. Aye? You go first."
"Alright. I am not a Yuo fangirl. Like those others, Vixen, Koi...Aspen. They're all over him because of his appearence. I actually love him, not just for his appearence. Heh.... Don't tell him, please..."
"Oh. I won't, believe me. I can keep a secret. Now me, I have to tell you something you didn't know before. Can you guess it?"
"Maybe."
"Try."
"Well it has something to do with Luke and Yuo, right?"
"How did you know?"
"The way you're acting since my victory against Luke."
"Hmmm, interesting. Well, can you guess what I am about to say?"
"You like me?"
"Whoa. You're one smart girl, you know that? See you tomorrow, Jet." Ruro winked at her, and vanished. Jet looked around to find him, but he was nowhere to be seen. Must have been one of his magic tricks. Now that she knew the truth behind Ruro's strange behavior, she began to walk home, but once she cut around the corner to the main path, she was intercepted by a white wolf. The wolf growled at her, its teeth bared, its eyes narrowed. The wolf began to approach Jet; Jet backed away slowly, readying her cuffs for a little battle with the beast. The wolf passed her, and stopped at another corner down the road, watching her.
"What is it, wolf? Do you want me to follow you?" The wolf perked its ears to Jet, and stood up. It continued around the corner and Jet followed it. Once around the corner, Jet met up with a boy about a year older than her. He was nearly bald, he had no eyebrows, his eyes were clouded with complex emotions, crossing his arms and leaning against a wall. He was shirtless, his pants were those that a monk wore. "....Hello?" Jet watched as the boy approached her, slowly.
"You found me by following the wolf." The boy's voice was calm and deep. "How did you know to follow the wolf? What was it that brought you to follow the wolf who growled at you, who sensed your fear?" He was a little taller than Jet, and she felt slightly intimidated by him. His eyes were strange than a normal person. They were almost dog-like. When he spoke to her, she could nearly make out fangs. His fingernails were long and sharp.
"I faced my fear. The wolf growled at me, but it seemed to be waiting for me at the corner. And it seemed intelligent, so I asked it if it wanted me to follow it. I almost sensed its answer. I knew that if it were to attack me, I have a high chance of winning against it. Why? Who are you?"
"My name isn't important right now. Right now, I want to test your strength. But first. I want you to meet Kiba. He's my best friend. How about it? Want to follow me back to my team? I'm sure they would be intrigued by you."
"I want to know your name. It's really getting late and I need to get home to my own team. Maybe after the tournament." The boy turned his back to Jet. "I'm sorry if I offended you..."
"No. I understand. Kiba! My cloak! Bring it to me!" He called to someone named Kiba and Jet started to walk away. When she turned back, she noticed that the white wolf was standing in front of the boy, and the boy was putting on a black cloak that stretched down to his feet. He put his hood up. The wolf looked at her and barked. The boy turned back. "If you change your mind, Kiba will be here. If you change your mind, Kiba will take you to my house." He turned to the white wolf. "Kiba, stay and wait for this girl in case she changed her mind. Okay?" The wolf seemed to nod, and laid down at the wall. Its nostrils flared when it looked at Jet. She felt a sudden ease in her stomach, that the boy meant no harm.
"Hey, wait..." Jet turned back and faced the boy. He turned and faced her. "I'll go meet your team. I shouldn't go home yet. I don't need to worry, after all, my brother is probably just talking with Yuo..."
"Good answer. Please, follow me." The boy turned away from Jet. "But please, do keep up with me. C'mon, Kiba. Let's go home." He got down on his hands and feet and took off, faster than Jet has ever seen a human being run before. She raced to catch up, an nearly tripped over her own feet in the process. This guy was fast! It was easy to track him when she lost sight of him because of the wolf's paw prints. Finally, she reached the boy's house and put her hands on her knees, panting. The wolf boy surveyed her.
"Wow, you're faster than anyone I've ever seen, that's for sure! What's your name?"
"I said, that is unimportant now. I wish to introduce you to my comrades. And then I want to test your ability."
"Heh heh! Okay then! Bring it on, dog-breath!" Jet watched as the boy walked into the house and soon came back out, with two others following him. They were both his age. One was a short-ish boy who seemed to try to avoid eye contact with everyone. He has a tunic on and a sword slung on his back. The other was a tall girl whose eyes seemed to pierce the darkness. The wolf boy's eyes were begining to glow in the dim light.
"Hello, stranger, welcome to our neighborhood. I've never seen you around here. But if Aang brought you here, you must be special in some way." The tall girl's voice was oddly deep, surprising Jet. She looked like quite an inucent girl. Her white silk robe was like a spirit in the night, blowing in the gentle breeze. She turned to Aang. "...Well, tell us why she's here. People don't normally accept us as regular people." Aang dipped his head.
"This one is different, I implore you. Kiba was on guard, and she followed him to me. She explained it as a 'sense'." The girl turned to Jet.
"My name is Jenseg. This here's Aang, and that little brat over there's my brother, Apoche. The wolf is Kiba. There must be a reason you're not negitive in our presense."
"Huh? So other people don't accept you? Why not? I think you guys are pretty cool." Jet looked at the odd trio. The wolf boy, Aang, his wolf, Kiba, the tall, womanly girl, Jenseg, and her younger brother, Apoche.
"Well," Aang began, "when I was born, people thought I was a demon because of my fangs, and my eyes." He bared his fangs at Jet to show her. "They were going to throw me into a fire pit, supposedly to return me to where I came from. They thought I was a demon, after all. But Suki, the Head of Fighting, stopped them. I do not know how she stopped them, but rumor has it that she threatened to kill someone if they didn't let me go. She took me in as her own child and took care of me, that is..." he sat down and began digging in the dirt. "...until I transformed."
"Transformed? How?" Jet has an idea in mind.
"On the night of the full moon, if I see the moon, I transform into a wolf. I am unconscious when I am in my wolf form, and the wolf rampages through the streets. Now, whenever there is a full moon, I cage myself up into a pen inside this house and suffer until dawn."
"Oh my God..."
"But that's not all there is to this story." Jenseg said. "We found Aang in his wolf form, but he didn't attack us. Instead he took a firm liking to us and seemed tame. But whenever someone came around, he would try and attack them, guarding us. We decided to take in Aang, because our mother died shortly before we found him. So now, people think we are accomplices of the Wolf Demon. So nobody lives in a block's radius of us." Jenseg looked at Aang. "And then the white wolf appeared and he and Aang acted as if they were brothers. They can communicate with eachother as well. Aang translates what Kiba says to us when Kiba wants to speak with us."
"But Aang, you're cool around me, right?" Jet looked at the wolf boy, almost shy.
"You are different too. I want to test your abilities now. And I want to know your special abilities, too."
"Umm, I possess the Malah."
"And what is that?"
"It's the blessing of the angels. When I activate the Malah, angels will aid me in battle."
"Interesting. As you can see, I possess the spirit of a wolf. I can howl to summon wolves to my side in a fight. And Kiba always fights with me."
"So, are you ready? I bet I can wipe the floor with your little wolf friends."
"Jenseg! Apoche! Head inside. It's about to get dangerous out here." Aang lowered himself to all fours, snarling, nearly intimidating Jet with his sounds. He sounded exactly like a wolf! He was obviously special. Jet tightened her cuffs and got into her battle position as Jenseg and Apoche headed inside and watched from the window. "Kiba. Aroof awoof woof gruf!" Aang snarled and leapt at Jet. "Begin!" Jet leapt up and landed behind Aang, but flinched as Kiba snapped in her face. She kicked the wolf across the ground and ducked as Aang's fist swirled by her head. She took his arm and flipped him, landing him on his back. But he lifted his hand and clawed at her leg, slicing it open, blood gushing from it. She leapt back in alarm, examining her leg.
"You sliced my leg open!" She rolled onto the ground as Aang and Kiba leapt as her from both directions.
"When your life is endangered," Aang replied with a snarl, "You don't play fair! This is a fight to knock the other out, or until one admits defeat!" He snapped at Jet, landing a light blow on her left arm. She shrieked, and became angry. Aang raised his head to the sky and let out a fierce howl. "Arooooooooo!" Countless wolves appeared from the shadows and jumped at Jet.
"Alright you dog-breathed, puppy-faced, bald cheater! Time to summon forth my trusty blade!" She unsheathed her sword and sliced at the wolves, dismembering them as they disappeared into smoke upon hitting the ground. Aang's eyes glowed red. He began to tremble and snarled viciously. He leapt at Jet and kocked her down, but she shoved her sword in front of her and sliced open Aang's side. He yelped in pain and fell down to the ground. Kiba was merely surveying the scene until now. He lapt onto Jet's back from behind and sank his teeth into her neck. There he held her down while Aang arose, grabbing his side. "Arf! Arf arf! Arooo arroo aro arf arwoof!" Kiba releashed his grip on Jet's neck and Aang raised his claws. Just when he was about to land a lethal blow, there was an enormous shriek of pain and a grunt from above.
"Get away from her, Aang! You have no right to fight like this!" Was that Ruro's voice? No...it couldn't be. Jet's vision blurred and she closed her eyes, falling unconscious.
Jet awoke to see a figure above her, looking down at her with worried eyes. As her vision began to clear, she realized that it was Yuo! His face was clawed, as if he'd been in the battle with the wolf boy. When he saw her open eyes, his eyes showed the complex emotions behind them and he stood up, as if he'd tried to hide the worry that he'd felt.
"She's awake." He looked back down at her, and walked out of view. Into her view walked a strange man who she'd never seen before.
"Hello Jet. I'm Yuo's father. Call me Hyabusa. It looks like you were in quite a struggle out there with the wolf boy, weren't you? You shouldn't have wandered so far out of the neighborhood. He probably would have killed you, had not Yuo been there to save you." Hyabusa looked much like his son.
"Y-Yuo saved me? But why...." Jet could hardly speak. She realized that her throat had been sliced during the battle.
"Yuo may be an arrogant man but he cares for his comrades, thank God. He got worried about you and began to search. Luckily, he found you before Aang ended your life."
"Yuo always acted like I was such a pain in his ass. Why would he get worried about me? I'm Rocket's younger sister, and Rocket always tells Yuo the bad things about me...."
"Yuo! Come over here and stop acting like you don't care about her! By the Gods, my son. Why in His name did you ever get so arrogant?" Hyabusa winked at Jet and rose himself, switching places with Yuo. He got on his knees and avoided Jet's eyes.
"Why, Yuo? Why did you come?" Jet's speech was returning.
"I'm not sure why I did. But thanks to you, I got my face ripped by that fanged beast."
"I-I'm sorry, Yuo. Aang and his friends are nice people. Aang just wanted to test me, is all. He must have gotten carried away... But I am grateful that you came." For the first time Jet ever noticed, Yuo's eyes looked warm as he looked down at her. Inside, she got a fuzzy feeling that made her feel like Yuo was a softer person, in private.
"Hmph. Maybe you shouldn't be so careless. I watched for a miinute. I have to admit, you did a good job....for a girl. Heh heh heh heh..." Jet giggled and decided to play along.
"Well, you sure looked clumsy on the field today, Yuo. Maybe you should try harder."
"....I was distracted, is all."
"With what?"
"Thoughts."
"Maybe you should stop making excuses and show the side you're showing me now? Stop being macho muchacho and just be yourself, Yuo..."
"Heh. Why, it's not like you like me or anything." Yuo paused and seemed thoughtful for a second. "...Right?"
"Of course not. You're like a brother to me."
"Haha, thought so." Unexpectedly, Yuo bent down and wrapped his arms around Jet and hugged her. She hugged him back, secretly in her own personal heaven. He withdrew and stood up. "Well," He started, "You've got nowhere to sleep in this joint. I'll ask my dad." So Yuo walked away, and Jet listened carefully to Yuo and Hyabusa's conversation.
"Dad, where will she sleep? Surely not on the floor. It's too uncomfortable and might injure her back. Surely not with you. That would be too odd. And surely-"
"She could sleep with you, Yuo. After all, she thinks of you as her older brother."
"......Eh...err..okay. I guess..." There was a shy shakiness to Yuo's voice, and he drew closer and bent back down to Jet's level. "Err. Jet, my dad suggested you sleep with me OR you could sleep on the floor if you would rather not.." Yuo's voice jerked back to his cool self and his eyes clouded with complex emotions again. "You know, I couldn't care either way."
"Hm. Neither do I, Yuo." Jet decided to fight fire with her own fire.
"...Well. Okay then. Do what you want. I'm tired, so decide quickly."
"Though a soft bed would make me feel much better."
"...Fine then, fine. I will have to carry you then." Yuo took Jet into his arms and walked over to his bed, and placed her on one side. Then, rather reluctantly and awkwardly, he got on the other side and faced away from her. "Okay so whatever you do, Jet, just don't touch me in my sleep, alright? I get kinda phobic about that."
"Uh yeah. I'm tired. Can I sleep yet?"
"Whatever."
As Yuo fell into a deep sleep, Jet was kept awake with the memory of Yuo's warm eyes and gentle hug. Eventually, she fell asleep and a beautiful new day dawned, with a catch.
Yuo screamed and scrambled from his bed. "Whaaaatt the Hell!?!?!" Jet jerked awake and frantically looked around, slowly remembering what happened. "Y-Y-Y-You were laying on me!?!" Yuo panted and calmed himself, then his mood turned into the macho Yuo he normally was. "...I told you not to touch me in my sleep, and I wake up and you are laying on me. What in God's name is wrong with you?"
"I-I-I didn't mean it! I must have done it in my sleep! Please don't be angry.."
"...Gah whatever. Anyway, let's test your strength now. Try and stand up. I'm taking you back to Rocket's as soon as you eat breakfast." Jet attempted to stand up, and collapsed on the bed after shrieking at her hurt ankle.
"It must have happened when I fell during battle. It hurts badly." Jet tried again, favoring her right foot. Yuo walked slowly to her side, waiting to see if she'd be okay.
"Now try to walk. I'll catch you if you fall." Jet took a step forward, wincing at the pain. "Hmm. You'll use me as a support back to your house. My dad should be cooking dinner now. Practice walking around until I come back." Yuo walked into the kitchen and Jet started taking baby steps. It hurt, but she wanted to impress Yuo. She put normal weight on the sprained ankle and tried walking normally. It hurt beyond comprehension, but somehow, Jet managed to make it without even a twitch of pain. Yuo and her ate breakfast and they walked to her house, hardly sharing one word. Once they arrived, Rocket answered the door and reproachfully spoke to his little sister.
"Where is God's name have you been? Ohhh little sister, when you get into this house, I'll be sure to teach you never to do such an irrisponsible thing again - and it won't be pretty." Yuo suddenly stepped up to Rocket with an angry glare.
"Jet is hurt enough already. I doubt she needs to be pushed around by the likes of you now, of all times." Rocket smirked. "I mean it, Rocket."
"What, now you're her boyfriend? Haha! Yuo, you idiot..." Enraged, Yuo took Rocket my the throat and pressed him against the wall. "Gah! Yuo....what are you...doing?! You're...choking me! You...idiot! Let me down!"
"Rocket, if I learn that you abuse your sister any more after this, you'll wish you were never born, do you understand me?" Rocket kicked Yuo in the stomach and unsheathed his sword, but in mid-slice, Yuo pulled his and blocked it with his own, and kicked Rocket in the groin while he was at it. He took the sword from Rocket and threw it onto the rooftop, and kicked him once more.
"...Please guys! Stop fighting!" Jet's voice echoed in Yuo's mind and he turned back, flipped his hair, and put his hand on Jet's shoulder.
"If he does anything to you after this, you tell me as soon as possible and I'll make sure he regrets it. Little sister." He winked and walked off, his arms raised. "Today we are to begin training for the tournament, but..." H estopped walking. "...I doubt you are well enough to start today, Jet. Hole up in the house in bed for a few days and get well soon. As for you, Rocket." He patted his sword in its sheath. "Remember my words." He vanished and all that was left was the awkward silence between siblings. Jet and Rocket stared at eachother frightfully.
There was a knock on the door. Rocket gave a cup of tea to Jet and answered it. It was Master Malcoch. His eyes were more serious than usual.
"I heard of the events that occured both yesterday and today. I now know that Jet is unable to train for about three days, at least until her hurt ankle heals. And Rocket, I now know that you don't treat your young sister with very much kindness, do you? I know that Yuo warned you to stay away from her. It's best that you obey. When angry, Yuo can muster the strength of a tiger." Rocket rolled his eyes.
"Yeah yeah yeah. Now, when are we going to train?"
"Now. Come with me. I'll take you to the arena. Today, you'll be fighting Vixen, Aspen, and Koi. Of course, with the absence of Jet, I am not sure how this will work out. Allow me a visit with Jet?" Ruro walked into the house and over to Jet's bed, where she humbly sipped her tea with a slight smile on her face. "Hello, Jet. Are you feeling well?"
"Master Malcoch, I think I'll be cured before tomorrow's end. I'm feeling much better now. All I have to do is to sleep and eat, and I'll be well enough to go fight with you guys again. Thanks for visiting me, Master." Ruro nodded and walked out with Rocket. When the door shut, Jet rolled onto the floor and began to do push-ups and sit-ups. "If I continue like this, I'll be stronger than that Aang in no time!" Jet continued with her excorcises throughout that day and the next.
One morning, Rocket awoke to the sound of a struggle outside. He opened the door and found Jet and Yuo friendly fighting. Jet was actually fighting with her sword, and dodging all the attacks Yuo threw at her. Yuo did the same. Until finally, Jet tripped him and held the sword to the back of his neck, and that's when she let him up.
"Good game, Jet. You must have been doing a whole lot of training to have gotten that good, even while you weren't well. I bet Master Malcoch will be pleased with you." Yuo seemed like a different person. He was much friendlier and less arrogant, and he smiled a lot more, too. It was all thanks to Jet, and her talk with him in his own domain. Rocket barged out of the house.
"So Jet was stressing herself while I was training, aye? I doubt Master will be pleased, rather than upset. Have not you noticed the rivalry between you and Master Malcoch, Yuo? It's growing thicker and thicker." Rocket eyed his old friend wearily. "And you certainly have changed, too. Cheery, hippity and spunky. Hmph."
"Rocket, bug off, will you? You have no say in what Yuo's emotions are. Maybe he IS changed, and for the better! Why don't you-" Rocket hit Jet into Yuo and unsheathed his sword. Yuo put Jet behind him and drew his own. "......Oh......"
"Leave her alone, Rocket. She's only a little girl." Yuo was just about tired of Rocket's antics.
"What are you? Her boyfriend?" Rocket teased and smirked. "Might as well live in your own shared house then, aye? Oh, and she's only a little girl."
"Damn you, Rocket! No more talking. There's only one way to settle a rivalry this 'thick'." Jet grabbed Yuo's waist and pleaded for him to stop.
"Please Yuo! Don't get yourself in trouble! Please stop! Please!" Yuo looked down at Jet with a shocked look on his face. Then he found Rocket laughing in front of them.
"Hahaha! Please, Yuo, don't get hurt! Stop please! Please please please! Hahahaha!" He taunted. Finally, Yuo jumped and sliced at him, landing a hit squarely on his shoulder. "Argh what the Hell!? You're lucky I started to evade, Yuo! This ends now! A fight to the death!"
"What!? No! Stop please! Please!!!" Jet's eyes began to water with tears. Rocket might be cruel to her, but he was the only family she had left. Yuo was her crush, and he was just starting to become closer to her.
"I won't kill you, Rocket." Yuo said.
"Of course not! That wouldn't make sense, because you will already be dead!" Rocket sliced at Yuo will all his might, but Yuo ducked under it and laid an uppercut on him. While Rocket was down, he sheathed his sword and put on his cuffs. He turned back to Jet breifly.
"It's okay, Jet! There will be no spilt blood! Watch me, now! Watch me release my full potential!" He began battering Rocket in a flurry of punches and kicks. Each hit Rocket attempted to land was evaded and countered with an even harder hit, until Rocket dodged finally, and kicked Yuo away from him. He was out of breath.
"Yuo, I never seen you fight like this! What is this?!" Rocket could barely speak.
"When I am protecting someone I care for, I gain the strength of an ox!" He kneed Rocket in the head and he fell unconscious. Jet ran up to him and leapt into his arms, sobbing and shaking with fear. "Oh, Jet. Just last week you'd never dream of doing this."
"Just last week," Jet replied, "You acted like I didn't exist." There was a voice behind them.
"What happened?" It was Ruro. He ran up to Jet and Yuo, giving Yuo the evil eye and looking at Rocket.
"Rocket was going to hurt Jet again, Master. I had no choice. He wanted to fight to the death." Yuo kept his hand on Jet's arm, as if to reassure her.
"Well I can see by his wounds that you didn't use your sword. And you havn't a scratch on you. I also see that Jet is well." Ruro stepped between them. "...Jet seems tired, and she has her battle robe and sword on her. What is this?"
"I was training while you took Rocket and Yuo out to fight, Master. I was determined to grow strong even while I was unable to fight with you. Yuo came over early this morning and I decided to show him what I had. I am ready to train now, Master Malcoch." Jet dipped her head in respect to Ruro.
"You picked a bad time to get well, I must say, Jet." Ruro replied. "Today we are to go against Jenseg, Apoche and Aang. Jenseg and Apoche are siblings, training school dropouts, but they insisted on battling against you guys."
"You must be kidding me." Jet sighed.
"I guess we'll continue like we did with Rocket and Yuo. While you were absent, I decided to have Yuo and Rocket fight against one apponent as a team. This time, it will be you and Yuo." Ruro declared. Yuo nodded and Jet smiled brightly at the thought of fighting alongside Yuo.
"You'll try hard, won't you, Yuo?" Jet asked.
"Are you kidding me?" Yuo laughed. "I still have a bone to pick with that Aang."
And so, together, Yuo and Jet were to battle against the last apponents until the tournament started, and worse - the apponent that Jet nearly died while testing her strength against. Hae appeared just before they entered the arena to wish them luck, and in they went, the gates locking behind them in that little sandy battlefield. Across the field where Aang, Jenseg, and Apoche. Jet and Yuo faced Ruro.
"Jet, I want to give you some advice when fighting Aang and Jenseg," Ruro said, with a serious look on his face, "Aang has a wolf named Kiba. I am sure you know about that. I want you to focus on falling the dog while Yuo distracts Aang. When the dog is out of the picture, you can both work together to fall the boy." Yuo and Jet nodded. "Now as for Jenseg, she is very sly. She knows weak points, so don't let your guard down. It is rumored that she also knows witchcraft. Her younger brother, Apoche, isn't much to deal with. Now, get out there and start showing them what you're made of! Good luck!" Ruro glared at Yuo and glanced at Jet, knowing that the closer they bonded, the more insepparable they would become. They were close friends already and Ruro knew that Jet loved Yuo, but he had no intentions to interfere with that.
Yuo and Jet walked into the battlefield. Each had their cuffs on their fists and their hands on their swords. Aang led Jenseg and Apoche into the field.
"I've no intention to let you go without injury, Jet." Aang giggled oddly. "Me and my wolf friends will end your life and your little boyfriend here will be to witness it. Heh heh heh." Yuo grabbed Aang's arm.
"And I have no intention on letting you hurt her. Beware the power of the Hyabusa, you demon!" Aang smirked and stepped a few paces back. He got on all fours and plotted with Jenseg and Apoche. It was apparently planned that Apoche would be the first apponent. He clumsily pulled his sword from his sheath after praying and sliced at Jet, but the sword was knocked out of his hands but Yuo and Jet kicked him down. He attempted to trip Yuo, but Yuo easily dodged it. He held the sword to Apoche's throat, and that marked their victory.
"Alright guys, the first victory goes to Yuo and Jet." Ruro said as he stood before them. "Good try, Apoche." He went back to his spot at the sidelines, ready to interrupt any nasty battles. Next was Jenseg. Ruro threw a warning glance at Jet. She nodded. Jenseg smirked and started the battle. She leapt gracefully into the air, bringing down her sword into the sand just inches away from Jet. Jet kicked her away and she ran into Yuo, who she blushed at. Yuo took out his sword and slashed violently at Jenseg. She evaded, watching Jet and Yuo cautiously. Jet sheathed her sword and got into her battle stance, and Yuo did the same. Both were wearing their cuffs. Yuo and Jet charged at Jenseg at the same time; The girl moved to the right to avoid, but an incoming fist threw her off-balance and she fell to the ground. To announce victory, Yuo took out his sword. However, suddenly he choked and fell to the ground gasping. Jet, in alarm, scrambled to his side. Jenseg got to her feet and held her sword to Jet's neck. Refusing to fall, Jet hit the sword from her grasp, bloodying her own hand, and tripped Jenseg. She took out her own sword and held it tightly to the girl's throat. At once, Yuo was released from the curse, gasping fro air.
"What did you do to him!?" Jet bellowed, but Jenseg only chuckled. With that, the battle was over, and next up was Aang. Ruro gave him some time to recover before allowing the match to start.
"Alright Jet, you focus on the wolf. I'll distract him. Once the wolf is out of the picture, we both start on him. Alright? If we win this, we'll be going to the tournament tomorrow!" Jet nodded and faced her adversary. Aang whistled for Kiba to come to his side. The wolf snarled viciously. Aang got on all fours and bared his fangs, throwing his cloak to Jenseg, who was walking back to the sidelines.
"Okay wolf boy. Your defeat starts here and now. Go!" Yuo nodded at Jet and she watched Kiba. Aang leapt for Jet, but Yuo kicked him in his chest away from her. Kiba began the struggle with Jet and Yuo began to distract Aang. Meanwhile...
"So what do you think of that one, Kurr? His agility and ability to summon wolves would be useful with us."
"Hmph. No, I want the girl. The one who possesses the Malah. If she struggles too hard in this battle, she'll be sure to unleash it. It's her only means of survival if faced with such a powerful enemy."
"What about the one fighting with her? He seems strong too!"
"Damn it, Kio! I said keep it down! If the city guards catch us here, in this shape, we're done for."
"Y-Yes Master Kurr." The two who were plotting were named Kio and Kurr. Each wore a dark cloak and a face mask, so their faces were not visible. "When will we kidnap her?"
"Tonight. Heh heh heh heh heh..." The shapes vanished.
"Yuo! I have the wolf down!" Jet shouted, after knocking out Aang's wolf, Kiba. Yuo nodded and backed away from Aang, whose eyes were glowing. Jet jump kicked Aang and sent him flying across the field, where he got back onto his fours and shook himself. Then, he let out a petrifying howl.
"Arooooooooo! Arrooooo!" Along the walls of the arena appeared countless shodow wolves. They rushed at Yuo and Jet who easily dropped their numbers to zero. Aang showed signs of panic. "Okay you curs! Now you'll feel the wrath of my own fangs and claws!" Aang leapt into the air and was engulfed in a thick shadow. The shadow around his body took the shape of a very large wolf. It was two times the size of Yuo and Jet put together.
"You dog-breathed mutt! I'll show you! Yuo! Watch this - Prepare to be amazed!" Jet took off her cuffs and threw her sword onto the ground. She took off her battle clothes and was left with nothing but her undershirt and shorts. She put her hands together and bowed her head, as if she were praying.
"Releasing the Malah!? Jet, it will drain you of your power! Stop!" Yuo's words were useless, as Jet's body started to glow with a beautiful white light. Above her head a halo formed, and behind her, countless angels' spirits hovered, each holding with them the power of the Malah. Jet and the angel army attacked the shadow wolf with their spirit energy, quickly draining Aang of his power. Eventually, he collapsed to the ground and the shadow which surrounded him disipated. The angels, too, left, flying into the sky, waving to Jet. Jet collapsed in Yuo's arms, who had quickly raced over to catch her. Aang's unconscious body was taken away by Jenseg and Apoche, who admitted defeat just before leaving the arena. Ruro stepped up to Yuo and Jet.
"I have never seen the Malah activated before. You should take her home and care for her while she recovers. I now know who'll be making it to the tournament tomorrow! Congratulations, Yuo, and give Jet my reguards. I'm sure she'll be overjoyed." With that, Ruro vanished. Yuo took Jet to his house and laid her on the bed, where we watched over her until she opened her eyes, some time later.
"Huh? Yuo.....did we win?" Jet said as she opened her eyes. Yuo was passed out on the bed next to her. He was drooling. ".....Eh. Hey, Yuo." She prodded Yuo's shoulder and he snapped awake.
"Huh? What? Ergh...Jet I told you not to touch me in my sleep..." Yuo rose himself and stretched. "How long was I asleep? Hmm.." He examined the sky outside his window. "Must have been about five hours. Oh well..."
"I just woke up too. Did we win?"
"Of course we won. You summoned the Malah. Oddly."
"I wanted to win. And I wanted to show Aang what I was seriously made of."
"Well, you impressed me, that's for sure. Heh heh heh."
"Oh..." Jet caught herself blushing and rolled over.
"Malcoch told me to send you his reguards. We're going to the tounament tomorrow."
"I can't summon the Malah for another day. At least it'll be ready by the time of the tournament, right?"
"Yeah." Yuo stood up and stretched. "What a nice nap I had."
"I dreamt about something." Jet said with an odd expression. "I dreamt that you were possessed by a demon, and you tried to attack me. I summoned the Malah, and you returned to normal, but this weird guy came up and grabbed me and kidnapped me."
"What a bad dream. I'd never hurt you, Jet."
"Not perposely, but you were possessed. That weird guy did it."
"Well," Yuo sat on the bed and pulled Jet closer to him. "If that were ever to happen, I would stop him before he managed to take you away."
"...Yuo.."
"What is it?"
"There's been something I have been wanting to tell you for a long time."
"Why haven't you?"
"Because I was afraid you wouldn't like me anymore."
"It's alright. You can tell me."
"Yuo, I..." Jet felt her face get hot. "I...love you..." Yuo's eyes suddenly clouded with shock. He looked away from Jet and sat on the edge of the bed. Jet did the same, silently wishing she hadn't told him. "You hate me now, don't you, Yuo?"
"No, I don't hate you, Jet." She suddenly felt him wrap his arms around her. "I knew you did all along. I knew because of the way you acted around me. How you always wanted to act tough in front of me. I knew it all along, and then you said that you loved me as a brother. I knew it was a lie."
"...Oh..umm..."
"Jet, the truth is, I love you too." Jet finally got what she wanted for so long. She managed to tell Yuo her true feelings about him, and found out that he felt the same. But then there was a knock on the door.
"Yuo! Don't answer it! Please, don't answer it!" Jet chanted in a whisper.
"Why not?" Yuo asked.
"It's them...the weird guy and his friends." Yuo's expression switched to worry. He put Jet under the covers and unsheathed his sword. "Yuo, I don't want them to take me away from you!"
"Don't worry," He said cooly, "They won't get away with it." He opened the door with the hand he held his sword, as if hiding it. "Hello, may I help you?"
"Yes. I'd like to inspect your province. We hear you are selling illegal drugs here."
"Oh, sure thing. Come on in."
"Thank you, sir." The two men and woman walked into the house, looking around. "So where do you keep them?"
"My father keeps them upstairs. I don't know where." Yuo walked casually toward the bed.
"Alright. Kio, you search the basement. I'll search up here. Yoki, you search this room." The group scattered. Yoki approached Yuo and put her hand on his arm. He shrugged her off.
"Hey, good lookin'. Hows about we play a little game. Tell me where the girl is, and I'll give you some of this." Yoki sat down on the bed by Yuo.
"You disgust me. I want nothing of you. Get out of my house before you get killed. Bring your two freakish friends with you. I will not let you take that girl, no matter what!" Yuo pushed Yoki off of his bed and pointed his sword at her.
"Wrong answer, hun." She hit the sword out of his hands and put his hands behind his back, all in one move. "I have him, guys!" The two other men found their way back to her and started beating Yuo. His grunts of pain and agony sickened Jet. She uncovered herself and grabbed for her sword. There was nothing there. She didn't even have her cuffs.
"Leave him alone! I'm the one you want, aren't I!? Pick on me instead!" Kurr, Yoki, and Kio looked at Jet.
"Yep. She's the one. Heh heh heh heh. Nice move, little girl." Yoki and Kio stepped back while Kurr put his hand on Yuo's chest.
"No! Leave him alone!" She launched herself at Kurr, after finding a knife on the stand next to her. She stabbed him in his arm, but he quickly grabbed her and took the knife away. "Get off of me!! Stop! Help! Yuo!!" The man stabbed the knife into Jet's leg. She screamed in pain.
"You son of a bitch!" Yuo wearily rose himself and grabbed his sword, which he thrusted squarely into Kurr's stomach. The man only psychotically laughed. "Get away from her."
"You fool! Now your spirit will be laid into waste!" Suddenly, Yuo dropped to the floor, gasping for air and grabbing for Jet. "Any last words, child?" Kurr pointed the sword at Yuo's forehead.
"Jet, I am sorry I couldn't protect you.....and I am sorry it had to end like this." Yuo could hardly speak. Then, there was a sudden scream from Yoki. She dropped to her knees, impaled with a pointed stick. In the doorway stood Aang, Jenseg, and Apoche.
"Finally, some prey to harvest!" Aang pointed at Kurr, and Kiba sicked him. Aang took off his cloak and threw Jet her cuffs, which he managed to steal from Malcoch, as if he knew that this would happen. He got on all fours and attacked Kurr, while Apoche and Jenseg focused on Kio. Dispite the pain Jet felt in her leg, she scrambled over to Yuo, who was gasping in pain and clutching his chest on the floor. She fell into his arms sobbing, watching the horror that surrounded her.
"Yuo, I'm going to help Aang and the others. Wait here for the battle to subside. Please, don't get yourself hurt!" She rose to her feet and helped attack Kurr.
The battle lasted for what seemed like a long time, but was really only a mere five minutes. Kurr picked up Yoki and fled the scene, followed by Kio, who had suddenly grown horns. Their hateful stare fortold that this battle wasn't over with. Jet, Aang, Jenseg and Apoche all worked together to put Yuo on the bed. Jenseg took the bandage from her leg pouch and treated Jet's wound.
"You guys are lucky we came. And lucky Aang had that vision." Jenseg laid Jet on the bed next to Yuo. "Apoche, go fetch Master Malcoch and Suki. Tell them to follow you and come back. Aang and I will stand guard until your return." Apoche obeyed and left the house to the hands of previous rivals, Aang and Jenseg.
When Jet awoke, Aang and Jenseg were gone. In their place was Ruro, Suki, and Hyabusa. Jet found herself laying on Yuo again, and withdrew. What Yuo suddenly said surprised her.
"You didn't have to move, you know." He said, and then let out a sigh. "...I am grateful that Aang and the others came when they did. I was getting seriously pissed off there." Jet curled herself next to Yuo and let the tears escape her eyes that she was trying to hold in. Her vision had also reached the rebellious Aang, and she had been saved from the kidnappers. Her debt to Aang was beyond words.
"Jet. Yuo." Ruro walked up to them and sat at the foot of the bed. "I have been thinking of the things that occured today. Rocket isn't to have custody of you anymore, Jet. However, I can't think of anyone who would have the room in their house to let you stay. Therefore, I will give you an option. Would you like to stay with me in my house, or do you have something else in mind?"
"She'll stay with me, Master. I'm sure she'd like that, wouldn't you, Jet?" Yuo glared at Ruro, and intimidating stare. Ruro looked down at his hands.
"Wha-- Yeah I'd love to, Yuo! Thank you! Master, thank you for the offer, but I'd rather stay with Yuo. Is that okay?"
"I guess. It's not my decision. Anyway, I shall say, Yuo, you look beat. You both do. I'm afraid you won't be going to the tournament tomorrow. I guess you'll have to wait another year...I'm sorry, guys."
"That's okay, Master Malcoch. It'll just give us more time to practice. Man, I'm tired. I wanna sleep."
"I'll leave you guys alone for a night. Good bye. Sleep tight."
Yuo chuckled. "This is going to be an amazing summer. I bet Hae, Vixen, Koi and Aspen will be surprised as well. Heh heh heh heh heh." And so, the night went on, and Yuo and Jet were fast asleep after their conversation.
That dawn, Jet awoke to the gentle probbing of Yuo's father, Hyabusa. She sat upright and yawned.
"Jet, Yuo's waiting for you out back with a couple of friends. He asked me to wake you." He said.
"Hmm? Oh, damn...I need to get dressed and do my hair. I'll be out in a minute." Jet got up and went upstairs and slipped on her fighting clothes. She put on her headband and brushed her hair down and walked outside. "Yuo, where are you?" She called, her hands cuffed over her mouth.
"Right here," He said as he was walking up to her, "Follow me back here. My friends are waiting." Jet followed Yuo to a shaded spot out of the sun by a tree. It was a small clearing perfect for meetings. "Here she is," he announced, "The lovely Jet." In front of her stood several girls and Hae. They began to mumble to eachother.
"...Hello, Jet. Yuo here was telling us all about you. You're.....really something." One of the girls, a tall blonde with a ponytail and green eyes, wrinkled her nose and spoke with sarcasm.
"I just got up. What's the matter, blondie? You just jealous because I got the hottest guy in the town?"
